  • Go, Operative! uses Google Maps data, which means it can be played almost anywhere in the world. Cities, towns, suburbs, and parks all become part of the game map, letting players explore familiar places in new ways.

  • Go, Operative! is designed around outdoor, on-foot movement. Players are encouraged to walk, explore, and stay active while playing. You can play either structured missions with set objectives, time limits and enemy forces or you can simply explore your neighborhood through the game in Free Roam.

  • Free Roam mode is a more relaxed way to play. It’s perfect for casual walks, exploration or spontaneous play sessions. Players can explore the map, interact with and collect rewards through virtual “hotspots” and enjoy the game without time pressure or fixed objectives.

  • Missions are structured gameplay experiences with specific objectives and challenges. Players follow mission goals, complete tasks and progress through story-driven content while under time pressure in the real world.

  • Go, Operative! is designed to be flexible. You can play in Free Roam for a few minutes during a walk or spend longer sessions completing Missions with friends — it’s entirely up to you. Missions can take up to 30 minutes or longer, depending on the difficulty level.

  • Absolutely. The game is designed to be family-friendly and appropriate for kids. There is no mature content, and gameplay focuses on exploration, teamwork and problem-solving. It’s a great experience for families, parents, and kids to enjoy together.

  • While Go, Operative! can be enjoyed solo, it’s best played with friends or family. Cooperative gameplay encourages teamwork, shared discovery, and social play in the real world.
In the current version, gameplay is limited to Player-versus-Environment (PVE). There will be PVP options in future versions of the game.

  • Because the game uses real-time location and map data, an internet connection is required to play.

  • Go, Operative! operates on a “Freemium” model. That means you can download and play the basic game for free. You can create characters, complete missions, level up and gain abilities. Free missions are procedurally-generated and standalone.
You also have the option to purchase premium content, such as Operator voice packs or Story Mission Packs, where a series of missions tell a longer narrative and feature new characters and situations. These are purchased using PRX, which you pay for using real world currency. (See the in-game store for details.)
